Labor Day has come and gone here in The States and September is at an end. But if you're a summer lover, like me, you're probably not quite ready to say good bye to sleeveless tops, and floral prints in favor of sweaters and scarves. Also, it's still pretty warm and humid here in the city.
Lucky for us, one of the biggest trends for Fall this year is florals (with an autumnal twist of course).
So I scoured the shops, and found the perfect dress to take me from my beloved Summer into Fall, the Brindille Sheath Dress from Anthropologie.
It's a classic cut that creates a great silhouette and has a killer pattern.
With its darker floral print, this dress is the perfect way to say goodbye to the bright florals of Summer and hello to the changing colors of Fall.
It's still a bit warm here in NYC, so I did not opt for any arm coverage. But once the temperatures drop a bit more, you could easily pair it with a loose cardigan for a more casual look, or a blazer if you're headed to the office. Anthropologie even pairs it with an autumnal long-sleeved shirt underneath!
But my arms are still bare and my sunnies are still on!
I love a good sheath dress. It's perfect for my frame and body type, which requires a bit of structure to clothing if I don't want to look like I'm hiding an early pregnancy. However this cut works on most body types (even if you aren't 5'2 and curvy).
Who you calling curvy? Oh, you meant it as a compliment? Why thank you!
The pattern is fun, yet sophisticated, which means you can do very understated dance moves in it.
But I think my favorite part of this dress is the back.
I don't know why, but I love when designers make the zipper a part of the dress rather than trying to hide it.
It adds a hint of modernity to what is otherwise a very classic dress.
It's the perfect dress for posing next to fences.
Or standing on stoops!
Look at those little pops of blue!
But in all seriousness, this dress is an incredible find. It's structured yet feminine, requires little to no accessorizing, and is my new go-to dress for Autumn!
