I'm not a perfume junkie. I've had a few scents over the year that I've worn for special occasions, but I'm actually quite sensitive to smells, so when a scent suites my fancy, I get pretty excited. I get even more excited when the scents are handmade, high quality, and reasonably priced. On that note, I'd love to introduce you to MCMC Fragrances.
I'd heard about this Brooklyn-based, sister-run, small-batch, fragrance company but had never had the pleasure of inhaling their heavenly scents until recently when I ran across their perfume oils and candles in a store in Williamsburg.
If the minimalist, sophisticated design wasn't enough to pull me in, their smell sure was.
I spent a good 15 to 20 minutes just going back and forth between them all smelling and forcing my shopping companion to take a whiff as well.
I was able to smell Noble, Maui, Kept, Phoenix, Love, and Garden (I was a little bummed I didn't get to smell the one named "Dude"). While Noble, a was my favorite, there truly wasn't a single sent that made me wrinkle my nose, or gave me a headache, and it was total struggle to pick my favorite.
Each scent is subtle, natural, and perfectly mixed; you're never overwhelmed by a particular scent.
One of my pet peeves with fragrances is when they are hyper-masculine or feminine. MCMC avoids this and somehow finds a balance between light, floral, and fresh notes, and the deeper, musky components.
The best part is they also have candles in all their scents, so you and your home can smell like pure heaven!
You can find MCMC products in stores nationwide, their website even has a helpful list of retailers, or you can order your favorite scent right from their website.
With the holidays right around the corner, I highly recommend checking out the full MCMC Fragrances line and picking up stocking stuffers for a loved one and maybe a little treat for yourself!
