Guys, the world has been crazy lately and somehow I let the one year anniversary of BKMG fly by without even a nod of acknowledgement. *Shames self in the fashion of Dobby the House Elf*
It's been a very interesting year putting myself out there on the internet. My feelings about this blog have been a roller coaster of: What the hell are you doing? YAY! This is fun! Why aren't more people reading this thing? How do other bloggers do it? Oh look people are reading! Guess what neat trick I learned! Am I a bad person if I airbrush my double boob out? Okay I airbrushed my double boob and I don't feel the least bit bad about it! Yes I do. Why do I have to have a real job?
I've mentioned this before, but I started this blog at a time when I was so bored with my job I was getting migraines (that and florescent lights) and when living in New York was starting to seem a bit more like a chore than an utter privilege. My goal was to have a place to share my experiences so that I would go have more experiences. Truthfully, if left to my own devices I will watch the same TV show, eat the same food, and wear the exact same outfit every day. But I started this blog to hold myself accountable for actually experiencing life and it has worked. Over the past year I've gone and done new things, tried new food, met new people, and remembered that a lot of what I was doing was already pretty awesome.
If my stats are correct, a bunch of you all just found this blog. So, I thought in honor of my one year anniversary, I'd round up my top 10 BKMG posts from the last year to help you catch up. Or, if you're a lifer here, to have little stroll down memory lane.
Warning, most of them are food.
So here they are (in random order):
The poet CA Conrad once said to me, "There is always something new to experience." That really stuck with me and I hope to keep experiencing new things and sharing them here with you. Thank you for reading, commenting, supporting, and following. It's be delightful getting stuck into this whole blogging thing over the past year and I look forward to what's to come!
